Taager is the first B2B startup focused on social sellers- Merchants. We are democratizing the social e-commerce space by enabling budding as well as seasoned entrepreneurs to sell online with no required capital, inventory, or operational experience. We have our Merchants covered from merchandising, warehousing, shipping, cash collection and customer service.

In 2019 we started as a team of 8 people, now we are over 350 employees across Egypt, KSA and the UAE. We serve more than 34K social e-commerce sellers from incredibly diverse backgrounds – from students earning a part-time income to highly ambitious digital marketing experts looking to become solo entrepreneurs. The sellers on our platform benefit from access to 2,500+ highly marketable products. About the Role

This role is ideal for a proactive leader with experience in e-commerce and a startup mentality, capable of driving both team performance and merchant success in a fast-evolving digital social e-commerce platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster Strong Merchant Relationships: Develop and nurture long-term, productive relationships with existing merchants, guiding the team to deliver an outstanding merchant experience that fosters loyalty and retention. Ensure our merchants feel valued as partners, understanding and supporting their business growth within our platform.
  • Close Major Deals with High-Potential Merchants: Lead the team in identifying, negotiating, and closing partnerships with major merchants that fit our growth and branding strategies. Develop tailored proposals and oversee contract negotiations, ensuring mutually beneficial terms.
  • Coordinate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate closely with Operations, Product, and Customer Support to address merchants’ needs, enhance onboarding experiences, and maintain high service quality across the merchant lifecycle.
  • Implement Targeted Growth Strategies: Work with the team to implement strategies for maximizing profitability and engagement within major accounts. Identify key areas for growth, including marketplace performance, customer engagement, and fulfillment improvements.
  • Drive Upselling and Cross-Selling Initiatives: Lead efforts to expand and nurture the customer base by migrating existing merchants to higher value tiers and driving upselling and cross-selling strategies on our platform. Develop metrics to track and encourage revenue growth through increased merchant participation in premium services.
  • New Merchant Acquisition and Activation: Oversee the development and regular updating of a prospect plan for acquiring new merchants, particularly high-growth potential sellers in our target markets. Guide the team in activating inactive merchants, developing a pipeline of opportunities to drive incremental growth.
  • Revenue Growth through Data-Driven Strategies: Leverage data to guide cross-selling and upselling efforts, helping the team set and achieve aggressive revenue goals. Use insights to identify profitable opportunities and adjust strategies to stay ahead in a competitive e-commerce landscape.
  • Proactive Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Cultivate a team culture that prioritizes creative problem-solving and adaptability. Empower the team to respond to shifting merchant needs and market dynamics with speed and effectiveness.
  • Sales and Negotiation Skills Development: Provide hands-on coaching in sales and negotiation techniques to strengthen team performance in closing deals and managing merchant relationships. Ensure that each team member can confidently engage and partner with merchants to foster trust and secure long-term collaboration.
  • Performance Tracking and Growth Metrics: Establish KPIs and regularly monitor the team’s performance across growth metrics, adjusting priorities to ensure alignment with startup objectives. Report on outcomes to highlight areas of success and address challenges quickly.

Requirements:

  • Experience in E-commerce: Previous experience in an e-commerce environment is highly preferred, with a strong understanding of the online retail landscape, marketplace dynamics, and merchant needs.
  • Proven Team Leadership: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience leading, managing, and growing teams, preferably in a high-growth startup or fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Background in Sales and Acquisition: A track record of successful acquisition, upselling, and cross-selling within B2B sales.
  • Relationship Management Skills: Skilled at building and nurturing long-term relationships with high-value merchants.
  • Excellent Communication and Negotiation Skills: Proven experience in handling complex negotiations, communicating with key stakeholders, and delivering compelling sales pitches. Ability to guide the team in effective merchant engagement.
  • Strategic Thinking and Problem-Solving: Ability to develop and implement targeted growth strategies, adapt to market changes, and offer proactive solutions. Comfortable working with data and KPIs to drive decision-making and measure success.
  • High Adaptability: Willingness to work in a fast-evolving startup environment, demonstrating flexibility and resilience in handling new challenges and opportunities.
