We have our Merchants covered from merchandising, warehousing, shipping, cash collection and customer service.
In 2019 we started as a team of 8 people, now we are over 350 employees across Egypt, KSA and the UAE. We serve more than 34K social e-commerce sellers from incredibly diverse backgrounds – from students earning a part-time income to highly ambitious digital marketing experts looking to become solo entrepreneurs. The sellers on our platform benefit from access to 2,500+ highly marketable products. About the role:
As the Leisure Category Lead, you will be responsible for driving the strategic growth and profitability of the Leisure category. You will lead category planning, vendor management, and performance analysis to ensure the category meets its business objectives.
What will you do:
- Category Strategy:
- Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and emerging consumer preferences within the Leisure category.
- Develop and implement long-term category development strategies aligned with overall business goals, considering factors like seasonality, emerging trends, and competitive landscape.
- Category Performance:
- Analyze category performance data (sales, inventory, customer reviews, website traffic) to identify areas for improvement.
- Set and manage ambitious yet realistic category targets, including sales forecasts, profitability goals, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Track progress towards achieving objectives and identify areas for optimization.
- Vendor Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors (brands, suppliers, distributors).
- Negotiate favorable commercial terms, including pricing, promotions, and exclusivity agreements.
- Ensure product quality, on-time delivery, and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Product Management:
- Develop and manage seasonal calendars for the Leisure category, considering key events and promotional opportunities.
- Oversee product lifecycles, including identifying underperforming products, developing exit strategies, and introducing new and innovative products.
- Conduct product launches and promotions effectively.
- Team Leadership:
- Provide guidance and support to the Category Specialist to ensure seamless category management execution.
What will make you successful:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in e-commerce category management, performance marketing, or digital marketing within the Leisure category. Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing category growth strategies.
- Strong understanding of the market and consumer needs within the Leisure category. In-depth knowledge of relevant trends, competitive landscape, and consumer behavior.
- Analytical & Data-Driven: Data-driven decision making: Ability to analyze large data sets, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable strategies. Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Google Analytics).
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders (vendors, marketing, sales).
- Passion & Adaptability: Passion for online retail, a willingness to learn about new product categories, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
