About the role:
We are looking for a data-driven and commercially minded Marketplace Planning & Performance Manager to drive the growth, profitability, and operational efficiency of Taager's marketplace. This role will be responsible for forecasting demand, monitoring marketplace performance, identifying growth opportunities, optimizing category performance, and ensuring the successful execution of commercial initiatives.
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with business acumen and can translate data into actionable insights that improve GMV, profitability, merchant performance, and customer experience.
What You Will Do
Marketplace Performance Management
- Monitor and analyze marketplace performance across key metrics including GMV, Orders, Revenue, Contribution Margin, Conversion Rate, AOV, Repeat Purchase Rate, and Merchant Growth.
- Develop performance dashboards and reports to provide visibility into marketplace health and business trends.
- Identify performance gaps and recommend actions to improve marketplace efficiency and profitability.
- Track category, supplier, merchant, and product-level performance.
Commercial Planning & Forecasting
- Lead marketplace demand forecasting and business planning activities.
- Build weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecasts for orders, GMV, revenue, and inventory requirements.
- Partner with Commercial, Category Management, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to align forecasts and business targets.
- Support annual operating plans and budget planning processes.
Growth & Profitability Optimization
- Analyze product, category, and merchant performance to identify growth opportunities.
- Recommend assortment, pricing, promotional, and inventory strategies to maximize profitability.
- Evaluate campaign effectiveness and provide recommendations to improve performance.
- Monitor contribution margins and unit economics across categories.
Marketplace Analytics & Insights
- Build and maintain performance reporting frameworks and automated dashboards.
- Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify business opportunities, risks, and operational bottlenecks.
- Develop actionable recommendations based on customer behavior, product performance, and market trends.
- Support leadership with strategic insights and business cases.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Category Management, Merchant Growth, Supply Chain, Finance, Product, and Operations teams.
- Ensure alignment between commercial targets, inventory plans, and operational capabilities.
- Support the execution of strategic marketplace initiatives and growth projects.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve planning accuracy, reporting efficiency, and decision-making processes.
- Implement data-driven tools and frameworks to enhance business visibility and operational excellence.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across marketplace operations.
What Will Make You Successful
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Statistics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Business Planning, Commercial Planning, Marketplace Operations, Performance Management, Strategy, Analytics, or Consulting.
- Strong experience in e-commerce, marketplaces, retail, technology, or high-growth startup environments.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of marketplace economics, performance metrics, and commercial drivers.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with Power BI, Tableau, Looker, SQL, or similar analytics tools.
- Experience building forecasts, business cases, and executive-level reports.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
