About the Role

As a DevOps Intern at Thndr, you’ll get hands-on experience working with the tools and systems that power modern, cloud-native applications. You’ll be part of real projects that involve automating infrastructure, improving CI/CD pipelines, and helping keep our systems fast, reliable, and scalable. You’ll work closely with experienced DevOps engineers, developers, and security teams, giving you exposure to a wide range of technologies and best practices in cloud & on-prem operations and software delivery. During your time here, you’ll build technical skills, learn how to troubleshoot and optimize systems, and get a feel for what it’s like to work in a fast-moving, engineering-focused environment.

What You'll Do

  • Infrastructure as Code: Help build and maintain infrastructure using tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation, making sure our environments are consistent, scalable, and version-controlled.

  • CI/CD Pipelines: Contribute to the improvement of our build and deployment pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, making shipping code faster and more reliable.

  • Monitoring & Observability: Assist in setting up and tuning monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch to help catch issues early and keep systems healthy.

  • Incident Response & Troubleshooting: Support the team in investigating and resolving incidents, learning how to handle real-time issues in production environments.

  • Environment Management: Help manage and optimize staging, and production environments ensuring they're secure, cost-effective, and aligned with engineering needs.

  • Automation & Scripting: Write small tools or scripts (in Python, Bash, etc.) to automate repetitive tasks and improve team efficiency.

  • Collaboration Across Teams: Work closely with engineers, security, and product teams to ensure systems are reliable, secure, and easy to deploy.

  • Documentation: Contribute to internal docs and playbooks to help standardize processes and make onboarding smoother for future team members.

What You'll Need

  • Eagerness to learn
  • Clear communication skills (especially in writing)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to stay organized
  • Comfort using or learning tools like Freshdesk, Postman, or similar
  • Basic understanding of how web/mobile apps work (bonus if you've dabbled in code, but not required!)
  • Patience and persistence when working through ambiguous or tricky issues
  • Fluency in Arabic and English
  • A team-player attitude, with a willingness to help out wherever needed
