About iWaqf:
iWaqf, a registered independent charity, manages your Waqf and makes sure your donations go to where they are most needed. It was registered with the sole aim of building an endowment fund that will be able to solve the key intractable issues facing the Muslim community and beyond. Wahed, the Islamic digital investment platform, has entered a strategic partnership with iWaqf to launch a dedicated Waqf (Islamic endowment) feature in the UK. The partnership between Wahed and iWaqf, along with the launch of the Waqf Feature, signifies a momentous step towards integrating Islamic charitable principles.
Job Purpose:
The Product Marketing & Charity Liaison Officer is a dual-focused role within iWaqf, responsible for: (1) developing and executing Sharia-compliant marketing strategies for the iWaqf products and services, and(2) securing funding from external charity donors, investors, and philanthropic partners. The officer will drive growth by positioning iWaqf offerings attractively while building sustainable financial partnerships to expand social impact.

Job Description:

    Product Marketing
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies for iWaqf products (e.g., cash Waqf, property endowments, Islamic social finance instruments).
  • Conduct market research to identify donor/investor trends, competitor analysis, and opportunities for iWaqf product innovation.
  • Create compelling, Sharia-aligned messaging for campaigns (digital, print, events) targeting Muslim donors and ethical investors.
  • Produce marketing collateral (brochures, presentations, website/social media content) to promote Waqf initiatives.
  • Collaborate with scholars and compliance teams to ensure all marketing materials adhere to Islamic finance principles.
  • Track and report on marketing KPIs (donor engagement, conversion rates, campaign ROI).
  • Donor/Investor Relations & Fundraising
  • Identify, approach, and secure funding from charitable organizations, high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), Islamic banks, and impact investors.
  • Build and manage relationships with major donors, institutional funders, and corporate CSR partners to support Waqf projects.
  • Develop fundraising proposals, grant applications, and investment pitches tailored to different donor segments.
  • Represent iWaqf at networking events, Islamic finance forums, and philanthropy conferences to attract funding.
  • Structure partnership models (e.g., named Waqf funds, joint ventures) to incentivize long-term donor commitment.
  • Maintain a donor pipeline and ensure regular reporting/recognition to sustain engagement.

Job Specification:

    Education:
  • Bachelor’s/master’s in marketing, Islamic Finance, Business Development, or Non-profit Management.
  • Experience:
  • 3+ years in product marketing (preferably Islamic finance, Waqf, or charity sectors).
  • Proven track record in fundraising, donor relations, or partnership development.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong understanding of Waqf structures, Islamic philanthropy, and impact investing.
  • Excellent proposal writing, pitching, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM/donor management tools.
  • Soft Skills:
  • High emotional intelligence to engage HNWIs, institutional donors, and religious scholars.
  • Ability to articulate Islamic social finance concepts in a compelling way.
  • Self-motivated with a networking mindset.
  • Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • A strategic marketer with fundraising acumen, capable of selling Waqf as both a spiritual investment and a social impact tool.
  • Comfortable engaging wealthy donors, Islamic financial institutions, and international NGOs.
